Guidance on the Interface between the GDPR and the Digital Services Regulation

The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) approved the first set of guidelines for the interaction between the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Digital Services Regulation (DSR) on 11 September.

These guidelines were adopted at a plenary meeting and are currently open for public consultation until 31 October.

The future Guidelines aim to clarify and ensure the consistent interpretation and application of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (DSA) and Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR), contributing to the consistent and coherent application of both regulations, insofar as several provisions of the DSA relate to the processing of personal data by intermediary service providers.
